EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS: England Women's Deaf Team Win the Euros!!

They achieved an incredible five straight victories in this futsal campaign. 

They started off with a 4-2 victory over Poland in Croatia, with 2 goals scored by Lucindha Lawson and one each by Louise Hogan and Macie White. 

An exciting second game with a 5-2 victory over Italy had a slow start, before Zara Musker scored seconds before the end of the first half. Faye Williams and Macie White then made it 3-0 before Italy pulled a goal back. England responded with Louise Hogan scoring from her own box and Musker scored with over four minutes remaining, while Italy slipped in another goal before full time. 

England had to fight hard for their 4-2 victory against France. France scored first, but Faye Williams scored an equaliser. France then hit back with another goal but with goals from Louise Hogan and Macie White England were ahead before the break. Louise Hogan then shot at the goal and Macie White hit it home to make it 4-2. 

A hard-earned victory against the Republic of Ireland propelled England into the Finals. 0-0 in the first half, England took the lead four minutes into the second half, with a goal from Louise Hogan. Ireland then equalised not long before the end of the second half. But England restored their advantage and secured their place in the final with goals from captain Zara Musker and Ellie Betteridge. 

England won the championship with a 2-0 victory against Poland. With some beautiful saves from goalkeeper Emma Brown, two goals from Lucindha Lawson and assists from Louise Hogan and Danielle Evans, England made it 2-0 by the first half. An impressive second half effort from England saw them keep their advantage and lift the trophy!

Record Breaking Woman: Christine Sinclair

Record Breaking Women It's the first day of the Women's Olympic Tournament today and the first match is Canada vs New Zealand. I've decided to write about one amazing Canadian football player, Christine Sinclair. Christine retired in 2023 but she definitely left a legacy behind.
